Track: Professional Services
Professional Services Products: Vision
Session Type: Customer Case Study / Implementation
Function: Management / Executive, Project / Program Management

For years our Project Managers and Directors have been seeking a sophisticated yet easy to use project planning tool. Our PMs wanted to select individual resources on projects and wanted easy access to project KPIs. Our Directors wanted a tool to predict utilization in coming months that would help them manage ebbs and flows in workloads and enhance staffing decisions. Enter Vision Navigator. Since August of 2013, Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LLC (CBBEL) has been implementing Vision Navigator on 100% of our projects. To date, we have planned more than 180 projects in Navigator. Simple or complex, short or long, design or construction observation, regardless, we have implemented Navigator on ALL projects. As an early adopter of Navigator we want to use Insight 2014 as a stage to share our story with other users. In the presentation, we will share our process and explain how we went about training Project Managers and Project Assistants, how we ensured that all projects were planned in Navigator, and how we managed the maintenance of Navigator plans throughout the project life cycle. We will also share and highlight the numerous strengths and benefits we have derived as a result of our implementation efforts. Additionally, we will touch on the challenges we faced in implementing Navigator, and will share tips and tricks with audience members to improve the likelihood that future Navigator roll-outs go as smoothly as possible. We hope that by telling our story we facilitate smooth Navigator implementation efforts at other organizations. We are supporters of the software and are fully invested in its success. Hopefully, at Insight 2015 we will have the opportunity to learn from an organization that learns from our story at Insight 2014.
